Jessica & Ross

Spring and Autumn weddings.

If you have been one of those brides and grooms who have had to rearrange your wedding date, we bring you some good news (from experience).

Everyone always talks about peak season being most desirable compared to offseason. What you need to know is that the vendor chat is very different; For us, the offseason has always been the preference. Although this worldwide pandemic has created a loss of many hopes and plans for your special day, we assure you, your wedding will be just as stunning and memorable during the Autumn and spring and winter dates.

We are going to explain why we love Off-Peak season. We are going to show you our lovely couple, Jess and Ross. They chose to get married beginning of October last year, and my oh my was it stunning!

1)   The offseason is a time where the vendors are well-rested and rejuvenated after a busy Summer season. When people are well-rested, performance is better and results are there for more time than usual to go above and beyond. Yes, it is the job of a planner to be on top of weddings even in the busyness of peak season, off-season weddings allow much more attention as there is more space in their usually long to-do list.

2)   Off-season prices are significantly lower than the Peak season. If you are wanting to save for a house, a honeymoon or that fancy lounge suit for your marriage after your wedding, off-season weddings are your best friend. With this season being quieter for most vendors and venues, you will find a discount compared to those summer months.

3)   Florals are in full bloom during Springtime. If you are like us and are in love with adorning the room, marquee or forest with flowers, you will not be sorry to do so in spring. Wedding trends have moved away from just greenery laid flat on the table, and we could not be happier about that. Back to the point above with saving money, we love using seasonal blooms to support local flower growers too.

4)   Photographers love to shoot weddings which are not filled with burnt chests, squinted eyes and sweaty grooms and groomsmen. Enough said. Photographers and planners are prepared when it comes to the possibility of rain for their offseason couples. Think umbrellas and back up plans. Again, although the likelihood of clear skies is lesser in these seasons, a photographer loves the look of textured clouds for that perfect golden glow at golden hour.

So here we show you our lovely couple, Jess and Ross. Although their wedding was off-season, the weather, the florals, the vendors, the setup and the whole day could not have been more stunning and smooth sailing. Jess and Ross were the kind of couple we adore to style for. They gave us a dream look in a few words and gave us the freedom to bring the dream into a stunning reality. Their wedding was on their family's Avocado Orchard. The ceremony was under a beautiful arrangement of huge trees which in hand acts as shelter if rain was to come (which it did not). Their reception was under LL Hire’s marquee, which was placed on top of three avocado trees down the middle covered in glowing fairy lights. Behind the bride and groom was a fairy light curtain with greenery hanging. We loved working with local florist Rosie from Rosie Wildflowers. She adorned the tables and flower girl's heads in her beautiful spring arrangements. LL Hire was there on hand to drop off some last-minute sun umbrellas for cocktail hour as the day was a scorcher… weather can be fabulous at this time of year too! Thank you to all the stunning vendors who made this day so special. The smiles and gratitude from this couple could not have been more genuine.
