Wedding Stylist Versus Wedding Planner

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

If you want a beautifully one of a kind styled wedding plus be totally stress-free building up to your big day then you might want to consider having a wedding stylist and a wedding planner on board for your journey.

We get asked this question all the time so thought we would let everyone know the inside scoop on the difference between a wedding stylist and wedding planner.

Wedding styling has become huge in New Zealand in the last couple of years but as most people only get married once it’s still a bit of a mystery. Read on to uncover the difference between wedding stylists and wedding planners.

A WEDDING STYLIST IS A CREATIVE VISIONARY BEHIND YOUR WEDDING.

A stylist works with you to design the wedding you have always dreamed of.

Wedding stylists bring it all together: they set-up, style and pack-down all of the event styling for your big day.

They can advise you on all your styling elements including florals, any installations, furniture hire, lighting, on the day stationery, soft furnishings and we also source items from around the globe.

A wedding stylist’s role is purely aesthetic and doesn’t include things like contract negotiations or attending appointments alongside the bride. Wedding Stylist specializes in the design, working on everything from floor plans and lighting design to reworking the space. We work together with you to make your event cohesive, stylish and sophisticated. The ability to design an event and create an ambiance that is one of a kind is a rare talent. Wedding stylists must have an artistic eye that allows them to transform the space like no other.

A WEDDING PLANNER IS THE ORGANIZATIONAL FORCE OF YOUR BIG DAY.

Wedding planners are all about the logistics and keep track of your wedding budget. From booking your dream wedding venue, photographer, hairdresser, florist and everything in between. Planners take care of the guesswork, making planning a wedding seamless and as smooth as possible. A wedding planner will handle contract-negotiation to the day-of execution of your vision. Some planners also provide design or styling services, while others opt to leave those details to a wedding stylist. In the end, it means you can hire two professionals to create the day you’ve dreamed of.
